Thursday, April 22nd, 2021, 6:00 pm (during Public Engagement Commission meeting)

The Commission continued to learn and provide input on the 2022 electoral districting process. The meeting included a discussion and input on the stakeholder list, media list, venue list, and communities of interest, as well as a presentation on how to use the online mapping tools. Monday, August 2nd, 2021, 6:00 pm

Third community workshop held in-person outside the Goleta City Council chambers, located at 130 Cremona Drive, Suite B, to inform and educate the public on district-based elections. Presentation on the overall project, the line-drawing tools available to the public, the project schedule, and first public hearing on how the districts should be drafted. Preliminary Census data released.

Tuesday, August 17th, 2021, 6:00 pm (during regular City Council meeting)

Second public hearing to solicit “input regarding the composition of the districts” prior to drawing the draft maps, and to identify and vote on neighborhoods and communities of interest to keep together in one district.

Thursday, August 19th, 2021, 6:00 pm (during Public Engagement Commission meeting)

The Commission will hear an update on the districting process so far, as well as the remaining process and timeline, and provide feedback to city staff.

Monday, September 20th, 2021

The prisoner-adjusted California Statewide Database will release its official redistricting data.

Thursday, October 21st, 2021, 6:00 pm (during Public Engagement Commission meeting)

Fourth community workshop held to inform and educate the public on district-based elections. Consultants and staff will be available to assist people to use the tools to draw and submit their own paper and/or online maps.
